THOMAS MOREY PULIGNY MONTRACHET 1ER CRU LA TRUFFIERE 2018 |
At just under 2.5 hectares, the Premier Cru Puligny-Montrachet "La Truffière" is the smallest of Puligny-Montrachet. The location owes its name to the Burgundian truffle, which used to be successfully cultivated here and graced the tables of French kings. The location has a rather flat bottom with a red color and a large number of small pebbles that give off the heat of the stored sunshine at night. The grapes therefore ripen well despite being grown at an altitude of 300-330 metres, which is unusual for Premier Cru wines.
Highly perfumed when young, this premier cru offers everything one would expect from a great white burgundy - richness, power, purity, length and at the same time the delicacy and elegance that characterize Puligny-Montrachet wines.
