Laws regarding the sale and transportation of alcoholic beverages are complex and constantly changing. The politics, policies and procedures regarding such sales and transportation are different in every state.

You may pick up the product at the Company's location or make independent delivery arrangements. The Company makes no representation as to the legal rights of anyone to deliver or import any alcoholic beverages or other goods into any state. Returns
If a product is returned to Wine Chateau, a refund will be issued for the returned item(s), provided the merchandise is received in undamaged condition. Original shipping fees are non-refundable. If an adult is not available at the time of delivery, the shipment will be securely redirected to a nearby UPS Hold for Pickup location. These locations offer temperature-controlled storage to help maintain the quality of your wine. A UPS driver will leave a door tag with clear pickup instructions, and the package will be held for up to seven calendar days at no additional cost (the package will be sent back to the return address after seven days). If you are in a rural area and the nearest UPS Hold for Pickup location is more than a 10-minute drive, UPS will attempt up to two additional delivery attempts before redirecting the shipment. This ensures added flexibility while still protecting product quality.
Shipping insurance is nonrefundable if the customer is unavailable to sign for the package or refuses delivery. If the package leaves our warehouse, shipping insurance cannot be refunded even if the customer cancels the order.
For added convenience, any adult (with an ID) whose last name and address match the shipping label may retrieve the package. This carrier directed policy is designed to enhance delivery security, compliance, and product protection for all wine shipments. If the recipient is unavailable after these attempts and the package is returned to us, a restocking fee of $25 may be applied at our discretion. Please note that engraved/personalised items are non-refundable and will not be eligible for a refund even if returned. If a customer is unavailable to sign for the package and the shipment is damaged after a delivery attempt or during its return to our facility, the customer will be held responsible. Package Protection does not cover these circumstances. If a customer requests that a returned or undeliverable order be reshipped, the customer is responsible for covering the shipping charges associated with the reshipment. Alernatively, If the customer wants to cancel the order, then the undamaged item will be refunded but shipping charges will not be refunded as carrier charges us for returning along with the return shipping.
Cancellation Policy
Orders may be canceled within 24 hours of placement during regular business days or before shipment. Once the order has been shipped out, it cannot be canceled. We make every effort to accommodate cancellation requests whenever possible and appreciate your understanding of our policy. Signature Policy:
You must be 21 years of age or older to purchase wine & spirits. . All packages REQUIRE a signature by someone 21 years of age or older at the time of receiving delivery. It is highly recommended that you provide us with a valid residential or business shipping address for the best service. Customer comments on order such as "Please leave on the back porch" or "Leave at the front door" or “putting a note on your door mentioning”no signature required” unfortunately will not be honored. Failure to comply with this policy will result in your product being returned to the Company without refund of any shipping charges. Identification will be required for pickup, shipping, and delivery.
Claims:
If a customer disputes delivery attempts despite tracking confirmation from the carrier, liability rests with the carrier. We will assist by filing a claim on your behalf; however, claim approval and reimbursement are not guaranteed. If a delivery signature is disputed, a formal claim will be submitted to the carrier for investigation. Should the carrier determine that the signature is valid, Wine Chateau cannot be held liable. Please note that claims typically take approximately 14 business days to process. All claims are subject to the carrier’s policies and guidelines. Due to varying state alcohol shipping regulations, most carriers do not assume full liability for alcohol shipments. Approved claims may be limited to a capped reimbursement amount. If an item is reported missing and the carrier has not documented the loss, we will file claims with both the carrier and our insurance provider. However, reimbursement is not guaranteed in such cases. All claims must be reported and submitted within 3 business days of the marked delivery date. Please be advised that redirecting a shipment to a different address or carrier hold location after it has been shipped will void any package protection coverage. We appreciate your understanding.
Wine:
Wine is highly sensitive to temperature fluctuations. During warmer weather, Wine Chateau strongly recommends selecting express shipping to help minimize transit time and reduce the risk of heat exposure. We take great care to store our wines under optimal conditions. However, please note that the flavor, aroma, and character of older or vintage wines may naturally evolve over time. Customers are responsible for monitoring local weather conditions prior to placing an order and selecting appropriate shipping methods accordingly. We appreciate your understanding and commitment to protecting your purchase.
Engraving Policy:
Customers are responsible for ensuring that all text/logo submitted for engraving is accurate, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Once the order is confirmed by the customer, it becomes a binding order where Wine Chateau will engrave the text as provided by the customer. Any errors from the customer's side in providing the correct details will not be liable for the refund or replacement. The placement and layout of the engraving are at the sole discretion of the engraver. Most of the items on the website can be engraved but some bottle shapes and surfaces are not suitable for engraving. The customer will be informed in a timely manner and suggested another substitute item. Please note that engraved items require additional processing time beyond standard order fulfillment. Engraved orders are final and cannot be canceled or returned once the order is placed.
Packaging Variation Policy:
We make every effort to accurately represent all products, including packaging. However, packaging and bottle sizes may vary due to changes by distributors or manufacturers beyond our control. Post-COVID policy updates have legalized 700ml bottle sizes in the U.S., and suppliers may adjust formats at any time. Packaging variations may include changes to labels, removal of boxes, or adjustments to bottle sizes. To keep customers informed, each product listing includes a notice indicating that packaging may vary. We do not guarantee packaging or batch numbers based on images. For questions regarding specific products or batches, please contact us directly during our normal business hours. Prices are subject to change without notice due to product availability, regional regulations, and taxation.
Packaging Standards & Protection Policy:
At Wine Chateau, we take great care to ensure your purchases arrive safely and securely in an excellent condition. All products are inspected upon receipt from distributors and again before shipping We use Fedex and UPS approved boxes and have —-box rating which helps prevent breakage. We also use bio-friendly packaging materials like shipping peanuts. For some expensive or delicate bottles, we use bubble wraps for extra cushioning as an extra layer of protection on top of the packaging peanut without any extra charges.. To provide additional peace of mind, we offer shipping insurance at checkout. This insurance safeguards against loss and damage during transit, in coordination with the carrier. Please note, no theft claims can be entertained as it is a government requirement to have someone over the age of 21 with valid proof of id to receive the parcel physically. However, damage or lost by the carrier is fully covered.
Any deformation of the product, (deformation= damage of a manufacturer’s box in which the product is offered/supplied) in transit will not be covered as we have no control over the quality of the box manufacturers use, while making the product boxes.
Unless manually deselected, shipping insurance is added on the cart by default.
Customers who opt out will receive a warning explaining the risks of unprotected shipping. By declining, you accept full responsibility for your shipment and release Wine Chateau from any claims that could arise.
Right to Refuse Orders
The Company reserves the right to refuse or cancel any orders for products listed at an incorrect price, rebate or refund, or containing any other incorrect information or typographical errors, whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, we will issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge within a reasonable amount of time. We use third party risk assessment companies to help us & our customers against fraudulent transactions. In the very unlikely event, where an order has been flagged by the risk assessment company, Wine Chateau will contact the customer to verify the order.
