"Pfoeller" has been named after a piece of land (terroir) in Katzenthal with a particular calcareous soil called "Munschelkalk". The Riesling grapes are picked by hand and the vinification is done by classical method. The finished wine is then matured on its lees before being bottled. A wine created for being stored a long time.Domaine Meyer-Fonné is located in a village named Katzenthal just outside the city of Colmar. This part of Alsace is fantastically beautiful, and not only that, in Katzenthal everything is more or less about wine! The Meyer family has Swiss origins and grow wine in Katzenthal since 3 generations. Fonné have been added to the name of the vineyard after a daughter married to Fonné. Today it's Felix, the 3rd generation Meyer who has taken over the production since 1992. During recent years he has, in agreement with his father, developed and modernized the winery. The result of the efforts will not be mistaken after the tasting of the wines!
