Haart's Piesporter Kabinett is a smokier, more linear expression of the Mosel than the sunnier Goldtröpfchen, offering tart lime, lemon and green-plum flavors offset by a glaze of honeycomb. It's a laser-edged penetrating wine finishing on a reverberating mineral tone.
This represents two-thirds Grafenberg and one-third Goldtröpfchen. Cassis, red raspberry, grapefruit and lime combine for a surprisingly colorful nose and set the tone for a bright, zesty palate performance. The sweetness is supportive but restrained on a fruit-dominated, refreshingly sustained finish.
