Gradis'Ciutta Friulano 2016 |
Wild flower, honeyed nut and mature yellow-stone fruit aromas continue on to the structured palate along with orange zest. It closes on a pleasant note of bitter almond that lingers on the finish.
This ripe, juicy wine opens with yellow stone fruit, Spanish broom and faint nut aromas. The medium-bodied palate doles out ripe Golden Delicious apple and mature Bartlett pear flavors, while a pleasant bitter almond note backs up the finish.
The Friulano grape is named for where it is most famous (Friuli, in northeastern Italy). This one offers medium body and layers of floral aromas, pollen, golden apple, almond, intense mineral and maybe a little bitter citrus. It has the acidity to pair nicely even with asparagus. Also a classic with prosciutto.
