Rich and supple with a tease of bold, coating the palate with a cherry, berry mélange of black and red, coupled with spice notes, wild flowers and earthy minerality – hints of anise and game. Opens in the glass with generosity and depth, but needs another year or two to really blossom.
This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
