Super clear in color and bouquet opens the 2014 Maximin Grünhäuser Abtsberg Riesling Trocken Alte Reben, which displays an herbal flavored nose with celery aromas at this early stage. Firmly structured and piquant, this is a full-bodied, intense and rich Riesling with more power and length than the Herrenberg Alte Reben.
It is complex and round, and reveals a long, persistent finis,h but needs at least another 10-15 years to celebrate its talents. Impressive wine, though more GG style than what we love MG for: lightness and finesse.
