Vina Tarapaca Syrah Reserva 2014

The vineyards of Viña Tarapacá are situated in the central part of Chile, in the Maipo Valley, one of the best vineyards of the southern hemisphere. The climate is mild Mediterranean, with hot days and cold nights. The estate is 2,600 ha in size. The grapes for this wine have been carefully selected. The fermentation takes place in low temperature stainless steel cuves to maintain the fruity. The wine is then stored on small oak barrels for several months.

This is a jammy Syrah with earthy, saucy black-fruit scents and a sense of reduction. Round and smooth for the most part, this registers as soft in feel. Flavors of blackened spice, blackberry and chocolate finish with coffee and mocha notes, while moderate acidity means the finish is short.
