The Great American Wine Company Red Blend

Our blend is made from Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Each varietal was vinified individually then blended together to create a well-balanced, fruit-forward wine. The Zinfandel forms a fruit-forward base, complemented by the rich color and bold structure of Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Juicy and satisfying, our 2012 Red Blend offers bold flavors with friendly, laidback demeanor. The blend is dominated Zinfandel, the classic American grape, and expertise of Rosenblum Cellars history of winemaking. Red fruits lead the nose with dark cherries, black raspberries and vanilla pie crust. The palate is rich and velvety with balanced tannins and a lasting fruit imprint on the finish.John Kane, the Winemaker for Rosenblum for over 14 years, embodies that rogue personality for which Rosenblum is famous. An entrepreneurial spirit that listens to his own gut, he’s not afraid to do things against the grain and always willing to take chances. Great American Wine Company is another frontier for him to conquer, allowing him to create interesting, enjoyable wines with the Rosenblum heart and the American spirit as an inspiration.The stunning California landscape, with its golden hills rolling toward the Pacific Ocean, is grape paradise. Cool maritime breezes temper warm, dry days throughout the growing season, allowing the grapes to hang on the vine well into September and October. This produces excellent fruit with balanced acids and rich, concentrated flavors. To create this wine, we selected fruit from key regions that give us the rich and vibrant flavors we were looking for to create our Zin-based blend.
