

Smith & Hook Proprietary Red Wine Blend |
Opulent aromas of black currant, plums andblueberry pie greet the nose, accompanied byhints of tobacco and leather. The refined yetrobust palate is multi-dimensional, showcasingflavors of dark berries and vanilla complementedby velveteen gripping tannins, a savory, richlydense mouthfeel and lingering finish.
The fruit for this wine comes from four prestigious appellations of the Central Coast: Arroyo Seco for structure and backbone; San Antonio Valley for rich plum and currant flavors; Santa Lucia Highlands yields rich, opulent flavors of blackberry and spice; and Paso Robles for black cherry notes and seductively round and supple tannins. The result is a spirited, layered and luscious red blend.
After harvest, we barrel-ferment Smith & Hook in French oak, beautifully melding each vineyard’s distinctive flavors into a robust and richly layered blend. We age this red blend in French oak for 26 months.
