A red that's based on Syrah with a bit of Mourvèdre, from the Swartland subregion of South Africa. Made in the image of those fantastic Northern Rhône wines we love to drink, this is named after Columella, an astute Roman who wrote about agriculture in the first century.
Velvety-textured tannins, black spiced berries, licorice, and butter on the palate. Wonderfully balanced, age-worthy, and showing great acidity, this young wine demands your attention. It is wonderful for gamey lamb shoulder crusted with herbs and mustarrd. Made from organic estate-grown grapes.
