Pali Wine Pinot Noir Riviera 2017 |
"Riviera" is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from two vineyards in the Sonoma Coast AVA: Pali's vineyard in the south-eastern corner of the AVA, and a small, family-owned vineyard in the Russian River Valley AVA (a sub-AVA within Sonoma Coast). This wine is fermented in small lots, punched-down up to three times daily during fermentation, then barrel-aged in 30% new French oak for eight months.
The 2017 Pinot Noir Riviera has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and opens with notes of dried black tea leaves, loamy soil, blackberries and red and black cherries with notions of potpourri, cinnamon stick and clove. Light to medium-bodied, it has a good core of earthy black fruits with firm, grainy tannins and good freshness, finishing long with black tea notes.
