Lucienne Pinot Noir Doctor's Vineyard 2015

The Doctor’s Vineyard is planted near the center of the Santa Lucia Highlands, perched on a gently sloping hillside 520 feet above sea level. Gusting afternoon winds slow grape ripening, while afternoon sun exposure out riper and more robust flavors than are found in vineyards farther north. Aromas of cherry, strawberry, spices, and hints of toasted oak with some earthiness. On the palate, blackberry, vanilla with hints of sage and toasty flavors.

Doctor’s Vineyard, a 243 acre certified sustainable estate vineyard is planted near the center of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Ranging from 320 feet to 720 feet above sea level, this gently sloped hillside’s exposure to the surrounding environment distinguishes it from the other SLH estate vineyards. Gusty afternoon winds slow grape ripening during the day allowing afternoon sun exposure to cultivate a riper and more robust flavor than are found in vineyards to the north.

Blackberry, cherry, strawberry and vanilla greet the nose finishing with light oak and hints of sage. Lush, round viscosity welcomes the palate showcasing vibrant fruit and youthful acidity, leading to a full bodied finish.
