The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Campo di Marzo is dark, earthy and a bit rustic, but in the best possible way. Mineral-laced black cherries, exotic brown spice and hints of tobacco create a moody yet alluring display. The textures are silky-smooth, giving way to fleshy red and black fruits with zesty mineral underpinnings and motivating acidity.
There are plenty of youthful tannins which show through the finish yet also the primary components to balance, as the 2016 Campo di Marzo maintains a clean and refreshing feel.
