DESCRIPTION
The Estate Riesling Trocken from Weingut Fritz Haag comes in at 11.5 percent alcohol, with ten percent of the blend raised in large cask and the rest in stainless steel. The wine is a lovely entry level bottling, offering up a bright bouquet of green apple, lime, slate, lovely smokiness and a touch of Brauneberg’s upper register mossiness.
On the palate the wine is medium-full, crisp and very nicely balanced, with fine focus and grip, good acids and a long, zesty finish.
A spicy, dry wine, with concentration to the fruit and floral notes, underscored by saffron accents. A little austere on the finish.
