Francoise & Denis Clair Saint-Aubin Les Champlots 2017

A brilliant millésime can lift a generally lesser rated terroir to greater heights, which is exactly what happened here. The first taste is classic apples and lemon juice, it's the mid-palate and the finish that really shine, sucrosity, white pepper, poire williams, ginger and mandarins. Saltiness and lipsmacking acidity makes out the backbone.

Nice color, even better nose. Chardonnay but not too much oaked.
