“Even as a kid, I knew TECHNICOLOR offered the most beautiful movie color process. Technicolor, I learned, was not a photographic process but similar to lithography whereby primary colors were actually printed on the clear celluloid. For me, Technicolor was the standard of color for all movies. Director’s Cut Technicolor celebrates artistry in film and wine, two of life’s greatest forms of entertainment.” – Francis Ford Coppola
The 2014 growing season was extremely dry and warm. Sunny summer days ripened the fruit ahead of schedule, which set us up for an unusually early harvest. When the fruit was brought in it displayed rich concentration while retaining a good level of natural acidity, creating balance and a solid foundation.
The 2014 Technicolor, a red blend of Malbec, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Cabernet, and Zinfandel demonstrates exceptional balance and a wonderful concentration of dark fruit aromas with a spicy, ripe tone. Fragrances of spice and plum are followed by a touch of creamy vanilla. The nuances of plums, cocoa, and sweet smoky oak are elevated by a long, spicy finish.
