La Garenne is one of Puligny's smaller and less well known premiers crus, located on the slope up to Blagny. It makes wines that generally have plenty of bite and acidity, and this example is a case in point, showing a hint of stony reduction, some vanilla spice and a core of chalky minerality.
This wine’s fruit is buttercup-yellow, with richness that brings to mind lemon custard and notes of lavender. There’s enough acidity to clean up that richness, so the wine feels potent and satisfying as it lasts.
