Dark, shimmering ruby red. Deep notes of plum, red cherries and black currant jam with subtle touches of toasty vanilla and spice. Rich, ripe fruit flavors of plum, cherry, mixed berry jam, and blackberry. Smooth tannins round out the mouthfeel.
Pair with slow-cooked duck, Gorgonzola cheese, grilled filet, or lamb chops with red-wine reduction glaze.
One of a pair of reserves from Joe Wagner's new Oregon project, this full-bodied wine carries a liquorous, bourbon-like scent. Its rich and soft berry and cherry flavors show a streak of licorice and a light touch of toast. Big, round and almost voluptuous.
