Presented in a wooden box. Intense deep red colour. Focused blackberry fruit and fragrant roses and violets, with a hint of rockrose. Spicy and peppery tannins, rich plummy fruit and a touch of liquorice.
All the development work undertaken in the last 25 years in the vineyards and in Dow's winery is made abundantly clear more so in their LBV than in any other wine. Its rich aroma of spicy cherries forestalls a port that's full-bodied and rich, as well as perfectly balanced, with delicate tannins and fine acidity.
The classic dry touch found on the finish of the house's wines can be felt too on the Late Bottled Vintage. This absolute marvel, extensively awarded on an international level, works wonderfully well with cheeses, dried fruits and nuts, and dark chocolate.
