Dominique Laurent Mazis-Chambertin Cuvee B Grande Cuvee Vieilles Vignes 2016

Saturated red-ruby. Liqueur-like dark fruits and violet on the nose, along with some exotic chocolatey oak; smells like very low sulfur. High-toned, wonderfully creamy and plush on the palate, with a seamless, generous mouthfeel to the flavors of black raspberry, spices and caramel.

There's something very natural and relaxed about this wine, as well an almost roasted quality to the fruit. More expansive than the Charmes-Chambertin but it's hard to believe that this wine won't reach its peak earlier. Finishes with sophisticated tannins and superb building length.
