A vineyard fossil-rich vineyard site of barely over one acre of 35-year-old Riesling vines creates a deep, complex wine keeping in the generous, seductive house-style of Meyer-Fonne. Roaring acidity shows serious structure for aging, but coupled to a ripe palate full of fresh apricot and butter-sauteed orange zest. This melange of aromas and a slight spiciness suggest a slight botritys. A great combination of palate density and zinging freshness that would make a special night out of a bevy of citrus butter seared scallops.
A tangy and bright white with sliced apple, mineral, pie crust and hints of dried apples. Full-bodied, fresh and tangy. A little sweet. Stylish and characterful.
