Wine Spectator 93 points - A tightly wound version, this red features cherry, plum, eucalyptus, iron and tobacco flavors on lockdown. The trim, compact finish isn’t yielding much today. Vinous 93 points - The 2014 Barolo Pernanno is absolutely stellar. Deep, textured and wonderfully inviting, it has much to offer. An infusion of black cherry, plum, spice, lavender and blackberry jam gives the 2014 its rich, sumptuous personality. James Suckling 93 points - The oak has a strong impact from the outset ahead of the spiced-plum and cherry aromas and flavors. The tannins really close out the finish right now. This needs a few years to integrate and build out the depth of fruit. Try from 2022..September/2018
