The 2016 Chianti Classico La Ghirlanda is a bit burly and rough around the edges, but also pleasantly rustic in its own way. There is plenty of Sangiovese character. Drink this hearty Chianti Classico over the next few years.

The Bindi Sergardi estate (founded in 1349, imagine that) is located near the walled hamlet of Monteriggioni in one of the most beautiful spots in Tuscany. The 2016 Chianti Classico Tenuta Mocenni La Ghirlanda is a simple wine with a steady stream of dark fruit, spice and tobacco-like aromas. This is a fresh and easy-drinking red with a bright and slightly bitter Sangiovese finish. Some 50,000 bottles were made.
