In 2017’s gloriously uneventful growing season, Girardin’s Chardonnay ripened to full-flavored perfection but retained classic Burgundy acidity and minerality as well. This already serves up generous aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple, spice, fresh butter and a hint of mint. It feels great in the mouth – round and generous and fleshy at first than then mouthwateringly energetic as the lemon and green apple acidity comes up. Yellow pear, nectarine, toasted hazelnut, lemon curd and light mint flavors stay intense and fresh through the long, vibrant, finish.
It has a bright straw yellow color and expresses to the nose typical notes of citrus peel, ripe mirabelle plums and pineapple details, with nuances of cream and dried fruit. At the mouthfeel it is rich and refreshing, with good smoothness and strong sapidity.
