Vaona Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso "Pegrandi" 2019 (750ml/12) 2019

The hand-picked grapes of the Ripasso are the same grapes that the Amarone has. The name 'Ripasso' literally means “revision” or “2nd time”, in this case referring to the fact that the Ripasso wine, after its first fermentation, is placed once more in the tank of the Amarone's lees. 

This Amarone dregs comes from grapes that have been dried on reed mats for 4 months before pressing. This gives the Ripasso more flavour. The result is a beautiful, full, round wine with a lot of structure and depth; a beautiful wine!
