The Riede Altenberg produces very elegant and structured wines and is based on loamy, gravelly sand and limestone. Juicy berry aromas with supple tannins. Ideally, Paul Achs combines Blaufränkisch with venison and dark meat.
Dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflexes, delicate brightening. With a touch of cedar wood and graphite underlayed black berry fruit, tobacco, some nougat.
Complex, firm texture, tight-knit style, fine ripe tannins, fresh structure, salty lemony finish, good length, safe potential.
