Laetitia Pinot Noir Limite 2016 |
Quite ripe raspberry juice, cola, roses and violet candy shows on the nose of this wine from the veteran producer along Highway 101 in southern San Luis Obispo County. The palate offers root beer, cola, cream soda, chocolate-covered cherries and cappuccino elements.
The aromatics show red fruits with earthen spice of cola. Elegant flavors translate to the palate with pomegranate and bright Bing cherries. This wine finishes with mouth-watering rhubarb and texture of velvet with a touch of smoke.
Bursting from the glass are notes of cranberry and juicy mulberry, followed by sarsaparilla and freshly-grated nutmeg. Bright, crisp acidity frames youthful flavors of pomegranate, red cherry and sandalwood with a hint of the classic Laetitia spice. Although very approachable now, this wine will age gracefully for years to come.
Look to pair with cedar-plank salmon and roasted mushrooms with herbs and goat cheese.
