Chateau Gruaud-Larose 2006

Deep, almost opaque ruby-red. The dark fruit aromas are dominated by earthy notes. On the palate the black-fruit again lacks liveliness & lift. Alcohol is balanced & there is a firm structure. The finish is of average length, but is thin & acidic.

Aromas of cassis fruit & cedary oak have licorice overtones. The palate is closed at first and understated, opening to reveal a core of tary, bitter-licorice fruit.
