L'Ecole No. 41 Merlot Walla Walla Valley 2016 |
Layered with enticing aromas of black cherry, rose petal, and plum, this full bodied yet balanced Merlot shows layers of baking spices and cocoa with a seamless finish of fine-grained tannin.
Toasty and plummy, this is impressive in its lean, angular texture, gliding with sleek elegance before finishing with firm tannins and a mild tobacco-leaf note.
Faint aromas of dried herb, cigar leaf, mocha and raspberry are followed by light, tart cranberry flavors backed by firm, dry, somewhat gritty tannins framed by a blast of impressive acidity. It's very tannic on its own but should fit in well at the dinner table. Pair it with pork chops with a cherry compote. It has an extremely long life in front of it.
