Beaulieu Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 4 2009

Firm, dense, chewy and chunky, packed with plum, black cherry, black licorice, dried herb and loamy earth flavors. Gains and adds dimensions, ending with chewy tannins. Best from 2014 through 2026.In 1980, we began a 14-year series of trials in conjunction with the University of California, Davis, to identify Cabernet Sauvignon clones best suited to our Rutherford Bench terroir. Clone 4 and clone 6 were ultimately selected. Also used as a component of our reserve Cabernet Sauvignons, clone 4 gives those blends pronounced lush, fleshy flavors with soft, approachable tannins and impeccable balance.
