Joao Portugal Ramos Vinho Tinto Reserva Marques de Borba 2012 |
Sourced from the schist and limestone soil of DOC Borba, this wine is a blend of Aragonêz, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Part of the harvest is foot trodden and fermented in traditional granite lagares, while the remainder is fermented in wooden vats. The wine is aged in new French oak barrels for 12 months before bottling.
Tasting Notes
Deep red in color, this wine emits an enormous concentration of aromas, including jammy red fruits and spices. On the palate it is potent and elegant with well-integrated tannins and a long, distinct finish. This is a wine for ageing.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs well with hunting dishes (partridge, game), red meats, foie-gras, and strong cheese.
