Powerful, silky, very aromatic, La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou beguiles with its bouquet, its balance, its remarkable finesse and its lengthy finish. A great cuvée that stimulates, then captivates the senses; it is the perfect introduction to the Borie signature.
Deeply pigmented, purple-red color holds well to a purple rim - it is not quite opaque. Aromas are of dark plums, coffee & graphite, with underlying cassis hints. The supple mid-palate is of mid-weight, but the tannins aquire more chalky & drying grip as the wine opens. Alcohol is balanced & fresh acidity ensures the lively cassis fruit & graphite notes have good persistence on the finish."
