A balanced and relatively ripe Margaux for the 2012 vintage. This blend of 55% CS, 27% merlot and 11% Petit Verdot, was aged for 16 month, it has a deep dark color. An elegant and sexy nose, with notes of red current, cherries, dry flowers, tobacco and sweet spice, medium to full body, balanced and elegant rather than robust, fresh acidity, and a smooth finish. My score 88, drink 2017-2031
Looking good! A very classic Margaux and Claret in general. The aromas are soothing and lush with an overall earthy character; plums, cherries, smoke, cedar and slight green, herbal tones. The palate is medium-bodied and shows cassis, cherries, blackcurrants and cedar with hints of herbs, tar, licorice and recurring forest floor/earthiness. Showing real well with some air.
