On the east side of Lake Neusiedl in the wine region of Burgenland, the soils drain well and the sun is plentiful. It's a perfect place for the native Blaufränkisch variety. Erich Sattler, who took over the winery from his father in 1999, takes full advantage of the area's unique climate, crafting terroir-driven wines.
This bottle offers deep, earthy fruit with the slightest hint of pepper. The mouthfeel is rich and smoky, with great natural acidity lifting it up on the palate. Deep berry notes with hints of earth and smoke.
