Wine & Soul Vinho Tinto Pintas Character 2014

Pintas Character is made from the 30-year old field blend surrounding the Pintas vineyard, which consists of the indigenous varieties Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Touriga Nacional. The wine is fermented in traditional granite lagares and aged for 18 months in 50% new and 50% second-passage French oak barriques.

The characterful second wine of the Pintas. Although the word "secondary wine" is rather inappropriate. As dense and complex as its big brother, the character shows intense pungent fruit of blackberry, blueberry and cherry. A powerful but very charming wine and a great introduction to the Pintas world.
