DESCRIPTION

A delicate Pinot Noir with cranberry, pomegranate and a slight dusty, floral note on the nose. Leads to a soft entry on the palate, followed by flavors of boysenberry, plum and leather, supported by subtle and well integrated oak. This wine lingers at the finish with velvety tannins.

Production Notes

100% Pinot Noir (INRA clones 777, 115 and Pommard).

Winemaker Notes

The fruit is handpicked in the early morning to insure that clean, sound grapes arrive at the winery in perfect condition and temperature. The grapes are crushed into stainless steel tanks and the must is held “cold” for 24 – 48 hours. It is then inoculated with selected strains of wine yeast and pumped over regularly to aid in the extraction of color and tannin. After pressing, the wine is settled and then racked off the gross lees into selected French oak barrels for aging on the “fine” lees for 9 months. It is then racked out of the barrels just prior to bottling.
