The 2019 Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets is also very promising delivering aromas of plums raspberries exotic spices and flowers. The palate is succulent and fleshy on the entry with slightly lower acidity than Clerget’s other crus but maybe more sensual with a rounded almost voluptuous finish. Medium to full-bodied elegant and precise like the Clos du Verseuil this is one of the more refined wines in the range this year.
