IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS
The 2009 Sub Rosa is a blend of 60% Prokupac (aged for 36 months in 3,000-liter and 5,000-liter Serbian oak casks that are ten-years-old) and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon (aged for 18 months in 225-liter French oak barrels; 20% new, the rest four-years-old). This is the second vintage of this wine, sourced from more than 100-year-old vines. It is only produced in appropriate vintages.
It comes in at 13% alcohol. This is an elegant Sub Rosa, with fine fruit--say, blueberry cut by ripe strawberry. It is bright and lively. It has the ability to improve in the glass over several hours.
