Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Rouge Cuvee Saint-Vincent 2016 |
An interesting Bourgogne. Usually wines labeled as Burgundy vs region or village are more on the light side with no complexity. However this is a very nice blend of Pinot from different terroirs which resulted in an elegant Burgundy you would normally find coming from one of the more famous villages.
Deep red in color, each sip of this wine begins with a seductive and warming nose consisting of ripe cherry, raspberry, plums, vanilla, clove, cinnamon, spice, herbs, and oak. This is then immediately followed by a luscious and well-balanced palate bursting with notes of ripe red fruits, cherry jam, more plums, generous spices, cloves, nutmeg, and pleasing tannins, all tied together by an earthy and drying finish.
