Sangiovese and Canaiolo grown in the Chianti DOCG area are blended to produce an aged expression of this classic Tuscan wine. Campbello Chianti Riserva is full in body with notes of violets and strawberries.  It is dry with bright fruit, pleasant acidity, and rounded tannins. Aged for a number of months in Slavonian oak following fermentation. Ready to drink upon release, this Riserva will continue to improve over the next few years.

This big and bold Chianti is drinking beautifully right now. There are an abundance of cherry and plum flavours enhanced by developed notes of spice, leather and chocolate. This is exceptional value for a complex, mature Chianti at its peak.

Campobello was created by the Opici family to offer consumers one of Italy’s most popular wines at an excellent value. The wines embody the esteemed traditions of Italian winemaking and those of Opici Wines. Long-established relationships with distinguised Tuscan growers provide consistency amongst this line year after year.

Varietal(s):
90% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo

Vineyards:
Grapes are carefully selected from the Chianti DOCG appellation of Tuscany -
Italy’s premiere winemaking region.

Winemaking:
Following vinification in stainless steel, the wine was aged in large Slavonian oak
casks for a minimum of 24 months. It was cellared in bottle for an additional few
months prior to release.

Tasting Notes:
A fuller-bodied wine bursting with aromas of ripe cherries, accented by floral
nuances. The tannins are bold, showing its potential to age gracefully over
the next few years. However, extensive cellaring prior to release makes it
approachable now.
