DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION
La Grande Dame is Veuve Clicquot's prestige cuvee, named for Madame Clicquot, who ran the house from 1805. The rose takes 14 percent still red wine from the Clos Colin at Bouzy. Copper-pink with a fine persistent mousse. Praline, quince paste and dried fruit with raspberry and wild strawberry, then blood orange and grapefruit, rooibos and fine leather. 2008 was a high-acid year, and it shows in the tension.
