Fontaleoni is a family estate run by brother and sister team, Matteo and Simona Troiani, with a little help from consultant Paolo Caciorgna. Established in 1959 its vineyards are located at 200 metres above sea level, the ideal altitude for growing Vernaccia. Brilliant pale straw colour with a faint greenish tinge around the outskirts and a watery hue. Jumping out of the glass are vibrant lime and green apple scents followed by some pear, fresh herb and slatey mineral notes.
Intense lime, pear and green apple fruits burst across the palate and show plenty of textural volume. Infusions of fresh herbs and wet slate lie underneath. Finishes dry with crisp acidity evoking a long scrumptious aftertaste.
