Valtellina Superiore Riserva Sassella 'Rocce Rosse', ARPEPE 2009

Delicately fragrant and multi-faceted, a translucent red hue with brick rim gives way to immediate red cherry and strawberry fruit aromas that are tinged with subtle mint notes. The mid-palate suggests muddled cherries and strawberries with hints of pepper, leather, dried herbs, and licorice. High energy on the palate with a refreshing minerality paired with tremendous depth. Layered like a Grand Cru Burgundy with a finish that resonates for 2-3 minutes.

 Extremely complex package without any excessive weight. Decant for one hour before serving. This Nebbiolo can cellar for another decade easily.
