Tomintoul Scotch Single Malt 21 Year

Tomintoul is a relatively modern distillery, having been built in 1964-65. The distillery is owned by the independent company Angus Dundee Distillers, which bought it from the troubled Whyte & Mackay group in 2000. ADD have expanded the core range in 2008 to include a 12 year old 'Peaty Tang' expression (the distillery also makes a heavily-peated malt whisky called Old Ballantruan) and a 1976 vintage, the oldest Tomintoul yet released.This 21yo Tomintoul boasts a floral, fruity, spicy character and was introduced in summer 2011 following the demise of 27yo. As with its illustrious predecessor, this will gladden the hearts of fans of mature easy-drinking Speyside whiskies that don't cost the earth.
