Tineta Ribera del Duero Avante 2014 |
Tineta is a red wine made by Bodegas Jorge Ordoñez in the Ribera del Duero. Jorge Ordoñez is best known Spanish wine exporter to the United States, considered as one of those responsible for the welcoming Spanish wines into this country.
The Jorge Ordoñez Group produces wines in various wineries, Bodegas Volver, Venta Morales and Avancia among others, in 13 different denominations of Spanish origin. Tineta is a varietal Tinto Fino, the variety which reigns in the Ribera del Duero, made with grapes from a single farm, Finca el Carril. The vineyard was planted 40 years on alluvial soils composed of clay, sand and gravel.
The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and the wine is then aged in French oak barrels for seven months. The 2014 is the second vintage of this wine from the Ribera del Duero. In its first vintage, the critics Robert Parker and Stephen Tanzer rated it 91 points, which, together with its price made it a very attractive wine to the consumer. We look forward to its second vintage.
Wine of bright ruby color.
The wine has rich, mellow taste with velvety tannins and good balance.
