2016 Beaujolais Villages Les Jeunes Pousses has a violet-tinged, black cherry and blueberry- scented bouquet to go with a nicely concentrated, balanced pro le on the palate. With ripe tannin, good mid-palate depth and plenty of length, it’s an outstanding looking barrel sample.
A pretty, ripe and peppery nose combines both the red and dark sides of the fruit spectrum along with plenty of earth influence. There is good energy and punch to the detailed and utterly delicious flavors that display only a touch of rusticity on the reasonably complex and persistent finish. This should drink well young.
