With the number of really good dessert wines available for under $12 per bottle severely limited, this is a refreshing ray of golden sweetness. Dried apricots add enough citrus pith to partially balance out the intensely sweet flavors. Drink in the lusciousness over the next couple of years.
The wine appears deep golden in colour with blossom, honey, stewed stone fruit and bitter sweet tropical fruit on the nose. The palate overwhelms with luscious lemon zest, apricot and butterscotch, layered with zippy acidity and warm spice. Finishing balanced with toffee and hints of banana, sweet and bright. Chill well if required and would be great with ice cream, fresh fruit and some cheeses.
