THE GREAT OREGON WINE COMPANY PINOT NOIR, WILLAMETTE VALLEY 2017 |
Brilliant ruby color in the glass with hues of pink and purple on the outer rim. The wine shows
youth in the glass with reflective clarity and intensity. The viscosity of the wine seems to be
moderate and suggests a medium body on the palate. The nose is deep with dark mineral, wet
leaves, and mushroom. The fruits are layered with a combination of dried black cherry, red
plum, and fresh boysenberry.
The secondary earth notes of sassafras, cola, and dried violets
oer added complexity and layers on the nose. The palate oers lush, ripe red and black cherry
fruits with blackberry and plum skin. The forward fruit character is dry on the palate with layers
of mineral, wet leaves, and mushroom adding earth and organic influence. This wine is
beautifully balanced with lively acidity and a soft finish. Drink now or cellar for 1-3 years.
