Pale old gold color. Aromas of tinned pineapple, fallen peach, and lemon tisane with a soft, dryish light-to-medium body and an even, fleeting chalk and sawdust finish. A possible base for a wine spritzer.

Chardonnay, especially oak-aged versions, are quite rich and need seafood of equal richness at the dinner table. Thus lobster, halibut and swordfish are ideal food pairings.
